NEW DELHI: Delhi Capitals continued their dominant run in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), securing a comprehensive six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Thursday to maintain their unbeaten streak in the tournament. With this win, Delhi Capitals are solidifying their position in second place on the points table.
Delhi are now one of just two teams with four wins, the other being table-toppers Gujarat Titans. However, Gujarat hold the top spot due to a slightly superior net run rate of +1.413 compared to Delhi’s +1.278. Both teams have eight points, but Delhi have played one match fewer.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru, despite the loss, retained third place in the standings with six points from five matches. Their net run rate of +0.539 keeps them narrowly ahead of the fourth-placed Punjab Kings, who also have six points but a net run rate of +0.289.

Lucknow Super Giants, with three wins from five games as well, are in fifth position with a net run rate of +0.078.
The IPL 2025 points table is beginning to take shape as teams enter the middle phase of the tournament. While the top five sides—Gujarat, Delhi, Bengaluru, Punjab, and Lucknow—are starting to create some separation from the rest, the competition remains intense in the mid-table.

Kolkata Knight Riders (4 points), Rajasthan Royals (4 points), and Mumbai Indians (2 points) are still very much in the hunt, though they need to build momentum quickly.
Mumbai’s net run rate is only slightly negative at -0.010, suggesting that a couple of solid wins could catapult them into the top half of the table.

Chennai Super Kings, with one win and a net run rate of -0.889, find themselves in ninth place, while Sunrisers Hyderabad are struggling at the bottom with just one win and a worrying net run rate of -1.629 after five games.
