Patna: As the country celebrates the success of "
Operation Sindoor", a social media post by the
Bihar Congresshas sparked a political row, drawing strong criticism from JD(U). The JD(U), which shares power in Bihar with the BJP, accused the Congress of acting irresponsibly and breaching national security protocol by posting images of four armed terrorists allegedly behind the killing of 26 tourists in Pahalgam last month. The controversy erupted after the Bihar Congress, in a post on X early Tuesday, wrote, "Operation Sindoor adhura hai, jab tak Pahalgam ke darinde zinda hain" (Operation Sindoor is incomplete as long as the Pahalgam monsters are alive). The post was accompanied by photographs of the four alleged terrorists.Defending the party's stand, Bihar Congress media in-charge Rajesh Rathorre said, "The govt needs to answer whether the four terrorists who killed 26 tourists in Pahalgam are dead or arrested. The govt must confirm it." He further accused the ruling coalition of attempting to suppress legitimate questions, adding that the ceasefire announced with Pakistan "feels like a betrayal of public sentiment".Rathorre also questioned PNM Narednra Modi's silence over US President Donald Trump's claim of brokering the ceasefire. "Trump posted about it before the PM's 30-minute address to the nation. Not once did the PM deny this claim," he said.Reacting strongly, JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said the Congress had shown "gross irresponsibility" by sharing sensitive images online without verifying them through official channels. "If they had any credible information, it should have been passed to the Home Ministry, the PMO, the Army or even their national president, instead of posting it publicly," he said.Earlier, the Congress had drawn comparisons between PM Modi and former PM Indira Gandhi in a poster campaign, triggering further debate.
