The CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 results for the academic session 2024–25 were announced on May 13, 2025, concluding the assessment of over 4 crore students across India and abroad. The results reflect a modest improvement in national performance, with both board levels maintaining a high overall pass rate.

In Class 12, the pass percentage rose to 88.39%, while Class 10 results showed a slight climb to 93.66%. The exams were conducted between February 15 and April 4 (Class 12) and February 15 to March 18 (Class 10), with increased participation and an expanded network of exam centres across the country.

Girls take the lead once again in academic performance
Girls continued to show academic dominance, with Class 12 girls recording a pass rate of 91.64%, significantly ahead of boys at 85.70%. In Class 10, the trend was similar, with girls achieving 95.00%, compared to 92.63% among boys. Transgender candidates also performed well, with a 100% pass rate in Class 12 and 95.00% in Class 10.

Regional toppers and underperformers reveal national patterns
Southern regions once again demonstrated academic strength. Vijaywada and Trivandrum topped both Class 10 and 12 results, each securing pass rates above 99%. In contrast, Guwahati (84.14% in Class 10) and Prayagraj (79.53% in Class 12) were the lowest-scoring regions, highlighting continued disparities in regional academic performance.

Special needs and foreign school students show consistent excellence
Candidates from foreign CBSE-affiliated schools maintained their high performance, with a 98.57% pass rate in Class 10 and 95.01% in Class 12. Children With Special Needs (CWSN) also achieved remarkable success, with 96.02% passing in Class 10 and 93.16% in Class 12. Many CWSN candidates also scored above 90% and 95%, indicating progress in inclusive education.

High achievers and compartment cases
A total of 1.99 lakh Class 10 students and 1.11 lakh Class 12 students scored above 90%, while thousands also exceeded 95% marks. At the same time, over 1.4 lakh Class 10 students were placed in the Compartment category, reflecting areas for further academic support.
