The Malayalam teaser of Nani’s upcoming film ‘The Paradise’ has become a subject of trolling after a translation mistake.

In one particular scene, Nani's tattooed hand is shown, and the tattoo contains an offensive phrase in Malayalam. The issue arose due to a major translation error when converting the Telugu dialogue into Malayalam.
The Paradise - Official Malayalam Teaser

Nani took to X (formerly Twitter), where he shared the teaser and wrote, "This is our STATEMENT. THE PARADISE WILL RISE. @odela_srikanth & @anirudhofficial MADNESS. #TheParadise IN CINEMAS 𝟐𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐇, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔."
Following the teaser’s release, social media was flooded with trolls and criticism targeting the Malayalam version. Additionally, some dialogues in the teaser contain inappropriate language, which is also suspected to be a result of translation errors.
‘The Paradise’ is directed by Srikanth Odela and stars Nani in the lead role. The teaser has been released in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, English, Spanish, and Bengali. However, it is the Malayalam version that has attracted widespread backlash due to the controversial mistranslation.
Twitter was flooded with criticisms and trolls regarding Nani’s tattoo shown in the Malayalam trailer. One Twitter user wrote, “What is this Malayalam Dubbing & The Tattoo In The Hand.” Another Tweet read, “it's all over nani's movie malayalam trailer with that bad word as tattoo. translations never went this wrong.” A third one commented, “How the hell the director got this much courage to encrypt that on someones hand.

Not all were against the idea of using such a derogatory word in the teaser as one commented, ”Personally, this didn’t feel like a laughing stock . The teaser clearly shows the film is raw and grounded, and the dialogues further clarify it. The tattoo’s meaning aligns with #Nani’s character being a son of a whore, so what’s the issue? Honestly, I appreciate his guts.”

Meanwhile, Nani appears fierce in the teaser, sporting a rugged physique and a striking two-braided hairstyle. His intense aura and raw power are heightened by Anirudh Ravichander’s electrifying background score.
