The hypothetical debate of “100 men vs. 1 gorilla” doesn’t seem to end as fighters from different combat sports have been weighing in on the question, with boxing legend Mike Tyson joining the league. Previously, Daniel Cormier, Eddie Hall and Conor McGregor had voiced their opinions on the issue. Tyson’s unhinged opinion generated significant fan reaction on how the challenge would turn out for the legendary boxer.
Boxing Legend Mike Tyson gets excited as he demonstrates the punches and kicks that would land on the silverback gorilla during the hypothetical fight
Nicknamed “Iron Mike,” Mike Tyson is one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. His last bout was a return to the ring against Jake Paul, where, despite losing the fight, Tyson claimed a moral victory. Reigning in the world of boxing as the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990, the fighter made his mark by winning the first 37 fights of his career.
Before even the hypothetical debate of “100 men vs. silverback gorilla” came up, Tyson, in his prime time, tried to bribe a zookeeper in order to let him fight a silverback. However, the fight did not pan out as the keeper refused to accept the bribe. Years later, in an interview with The Ring, Tyson was asked if things would have happened differently for a prime Mike Tyson and if the fight did happen, how it would turn out. Tyson’s optimistic replies have taken the fans of the combat sports for a spin.
“The gorilla would have been in a lot of trouble. He is gonna have so much f*cking trouble. Oh man I am going to have like a full Nelson”, While laughing it off, the fighter demonstrated how he would have landed kicks and punches on the beast thereby handing it the defeat.
Fans acknowledged the courage that the fighter bore during his prime time and continues to have it even now. One of them wrote, “Mate, 100 prime Mike Tysons might beat a few gorilla's i can't lie. I swear I'm not trolling or rage baiting, this MFER tried to PAY a zoo dude to let him scrap a gorilla. Fearless, ferocious monster in his prime”
Another one wrote, “He's not kidding. He actually wanted to fight one 1v1 in his prime, so he wouldn't be scared. 100 of him would tear that poor gorilla apart.”
“That's a lot of pain man”
