'My father is 100% fit': Nitish Kumar's son asks voters to make him CM again

NEW DELHI: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar's son, Nishant Kumar, on Friday appealed to the public to re-elect his father in the upcoming state assembly elections, firmly stating that the veteran leader is “100 per cent fit” to continue leading the state.
“This is an election year. I have urged people before to vote for my father, and I am doing so again. He has done so much for Bihar, and his return to power will ensure that development continues without interruption,” he said.
When questioned about Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav’s recent remarks casting doubts over Nitish Kumar’s health, Nishant swiftly dismissed the concerns, asserting, “My father is 100 per cent fit.”
Speculation about Nishant’s possible entry into politics has been gaining traction, particularly as the JDU lacks a clear succession plan for the future. Reports have suggested that he might contest the upcoming assembly elections from Harnaut, the same constituency where Nitish Kumar began his political career decades ago.
However, Nishant steered clear of addressing questions about his potential political debut.
The state gears up for a highly anticipated assembly election later this year where Nitish Kumar will be seeking a fifth consecutive term as chief minister.
