Woman dies in road accident after being hit by mini truck in Delhi

A woman in Delhi, Pooja Devi, died after being hit by a mini-truck, and the driver is in custody. In a separate incident, Delhi Police arrested four individuals for the murder of a 20-year-old man, Hritik, by his brother-in-law and associates over alleged mistreatment of his wife.

NEW DELHI: A woman died in a road accident after she was hit by a 'chota hathi' (min-truck) vehicle on March 8 near Azadpur Balaji tower in the national capital, Delhi Police said on Sunday.
Police said that, receiving a PCR call at Adarsh Nagar Police Station on March 8 regarding a "Chhota Hathi" vehicle accident near "Azadpur flyover Balaji Tower ke pass" involving a woman in serious condition.
Officials stated that upon reaching the location, they discovered the injured woman had been transported to BJRM hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The victim was later identified as Pooja Devi, aged 37, from Balaswa Dairy. Her remains are currently at BJRM mortuary.
The vehicle operator, Abhishek, aged 27, from Govindpuri, Delhi, was apprehended by civilians and taken to the police station for legal action.
Authorities continue to examine the accident's circumstances.
In a separate incident, Delhi Police have apprehended four individuals for the murder of a 20-year-old man discovered in Kailash Colony on March 7.
Investigations revealed the victim was killed by his brother-in-law and associates due to his alleged mistreatment of his wife, who is the sister of one accused.
Authorities were notified on March 7 about an unidentified male body in Kailash Colony's vacant land. The victim had neck injuries and facial disfigurement.
A case was registered under sections 103(1)/3(5) BNS, PS Jyoti Nagar.
The investigation team utilised CCTV analysis, technical surveillance, and local intelligence to identify the victim as Hritik, aged 20, from Jagatpuri, Delhi.
The investigation uncovered that Hritik had married one accused's sister after eloping, and reportedly subjected her to mistreatment.
The Narcotics/NED team arrested four suspects: Shivam (20) from Ashok Nagar, Sonu (18) from Jyoti Nagar, Suraj (23) and Vishal (18), both from East Nathu Colony Chowk, Delhi.
The accused confessed that following Hritik's visit to their residence on March 6-7, 2025, where he made offensive remarks, they orchestrated his murder.
After intoxicating him with alcohol, they transported him to Kailash Colony and killed him. Police recovered the murder weapon, bloodstained basin piece, and the accused's clothing.
