Keep your sari wrinkle-free

Festive and wedding seasons call for packing and carrying expensive and stunning saris that can get damaged or form a crease during traveling. You keep yourself away from this hassle, let’s see some simple ways to pack your wedding saris without the formation of creases.

Choose the packing material carefully

Before you start packing your sari, always look out for a breathable fabric pouch such as a ziplock garment bag that would keep your sari away from moisture and dirt, and would keep the neat press intact.

Cotton and muslin bags

Try placing your saris in neat muslin and cotton bags after it is wrapped up in tissue paper. Place it carefully inside your bag and remain tension-free for the trip.

Fold it properly

To avoid wrinkles, fold your sari gently and properly at the start as improper folding will lead to permanent creases that are hard to remove.

Always create sharp folds

The folds of your sari should be aligned properly and should never look loose. Start by laying the sari flat, understand the length and fabric, and then start with the folding session.

Roll the sari for the journey

Instead of folding, you can also roll the sari loose in a soft cotton cloth which would not result in creasing. It can be a task but this method reduces wrinkles.

Start purchasing garment bags

Garment bags during traveling are the best solution. They come with a zip keeping the saris in a confined area and preventing them from wrinkles, creases, or damage.

Avoid overpacking with saris

If you’re carrying saris in your luggage then opt for limited and only required items, as overpacking can lead to crushing of fabric and resulting in permanent damage.

Protect your sari from moisture

Do not pack your water bottle or any liquid item around the sari as it would create a spillage mess and would ruin the look and material of the sari.
